Handled Screw Arm Solid Boxwood Plow Plane with four great Ivory Tips by
A.Howland & Co. N. Y. What a beauty!! Boxwood arms and nuts are near
perfect. They are beautiful! The boxwood stock is a really light color with
great patina. The main stock is Good+++ with a few age checks only. The
fence is in Good +++ shape. The arms show very minor wear or thread chips
but there are a few. The skate has the brass stiffener plate and is in Good
+++ condition. The four Ivory Tips are nice and tight. You will search a
very long time before you find another as nice as this one. A$ 1695 |

Drop Dead Stunning Skate Nosed Solid Ebony Plow Plane Signed J. CLUCAS.
A gorgeous plane in fine condition. The body and fence are of the blackest,
creamiest ebony, while the fence, arms and nuts are boxwood. There is a
flake off the fence in an inconspicuous spot just above the stop mortise.
The plane has a riveted skate. The arms and the threads are quite clean with
only a few small chips. Clucas is not a listed user, but he used a 3 legged
symbol similar to that of Tyzack. Perhaps he worked for Tyzack. A$

Very Rare 4 Star R.C. BAILEY
OGDENSBURGH Double Iron Screw Arm Sash Plane. The plane is in good
condition with no defects, just the usual tool box dings and bangs that keep
it from a fine rating. Roswell C. Bailey, born in 1813, was listed as a
planemaker in Ogdensburg, New York, in 1850. The plane bears the A mark in
Pollak's American Wooden Planes, which denotes extreme rarity, with
between 10 and 50 examples known to exist. A$ 425
